Greetings WAV'S,

I hope all is well for you and your families. Due to the recent severe drop in temperature and freezes that have effected the local area, our scheduled invasive plant and river shoreline clean up event at Tanglewild Park has been postponed. A new date is pending.

Upon monitoring upcoming whether activities, a forecasted arctic front is expected to arrive by Friday night through Saturday. Upon surveying the Tanglewild site it was determined that it would not be in the best interest to expose volunteers or staff to such extreme temperatures or potential hazards. The safety and welfare of our volunteers and staff takes precedence. Rescheduling the event is a small inconvenience by comparison.

Your participation is needed for education events already planned for January and February 2010. Your help would sure make a difference. If you have any family members or friends who are interested in becoming WAV volunteers, please pass this message along. The community is encouraged to help out.

Please check out the below attachments in this email for our latest opportunities. I've also attached details below about two "Splash into Science" Family Nights planned at Children's Reading Center on January 28, 2010, and Moseley Elementary School on February 24, 2010. These are exciting, hands-on educational events that are a true joy in education. Please check them out and let me know as soon as possible if you would like to attend and participate.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!

 Sincerely,

Jose Artigas

Volunteer confirmation is vital
Currently I am arranging booths activities and confirming volunteers. Your help will certainly make a difference.
